Getting Started with On Demand Fitness
On Demand classes are entirely on YOUR schedule. You can press play and workout at the exact moment it works for you. Need a break? Just pause the class and resume when you are ready to restart! You will have the same fun, motivating atmosphere of a group fitness class led by a YMCA instructor, with the added convenience of being entirely on your schedule.
When starting or returning to a workout regime, you may want to consider lower intensity and impact options. Members of Y@HOME+ have access to a wide variety of On Demand classes for all fitness levels, including those who are new to fitness or those looking to get back into working out after a hiatus of any kind. 1)Low Impact Interval Training (LIIT) with Diana (19:12) – Low Impact Interval Training (LIIT) consists of alternating set periods of work and recovery. The exercises in this class are designed to elevate your heart rate and challenge your cardio fitness in a gentle way, with no jumping or high impact movements. No equipment is needed for this workout and the class is set to timed intervals, so you can do as many or as few repetitions in the intervals as you need to feel successful.
2)Standing Traditional Yoga Class with Bonnie (22:22) – This traditional yoga practice will help connect mind and body, without having to perform transitions from the floor-to-ground or ground-to-floor.
3)Gentle Fit with Janice! Cardio, Strength and Balance Work (30:47) – A complete workout that will move your body, elevate your heart rate, and improve your balance! Janice will have you feeling motivated and energized during this 30-minute workout which uses a chair as a gentle support for your body.
4)Gentle Fit: A Chair Yoga Session with Bonnie! (33:52) - In this chair Yoga session, Bonnie sprinkles in some standing elements to help you improve your leg strength, balance and mobility. The majority of the in this practice poses involve chair support, with some standing elements for a gentle challenge.
5)Strength: Five Body Weight Exercises With Gemma (36:58) - In this workout, Gemma uses five exercises to gently challenge total body strength. This workout is ideal for those newer to exercise who are looking to build up a foundation of strength. No equipment needed and options shown so you can customize your workout to your abilities and goals.
