Welcome, everyone! I’m Dr. Sarah Lucas, a Radiation Oncologist, who cares for cancer patients at various stages of their journey. I know that 40% of all cancers (not to mention chronic diseases like Type 2 Diabetes and heart disease) are preventable with a healthy lifestyle. I have a particular interest in how healthy eating can help prevent disease.

But if you fail to plan ahead, you’ll end up relying on our culture’s food conveniences which are currently making so many of us sick. I want to see a time in my career when the incidence of cancer and chronic disease stops going up - when I might actually see fewer patients with preventable cancers in a year because healthy eating is made easy, accessible and JOYFUL. If you care about your health and the health of our planet, you can’t afford not to meal plan.

  • While technically EatPlantJoy could be considered either, my goal is to help you find joy in eating more plants, more often. The research says that plant-based, or plant-forward, diets are the best way of preventing disease, maintaining overall health, and simply feeling good.

    As we embark on this journey together, let’s not allow labels like vegan, vegetarian, or meat eater to define us or get in the way. Let’s not allow perfection to be the enemy of progress. Let’s take this one day at a time and have fun along the way!
